The Beatitudes

Anyone who has been Christian for a number of years will have encountered the “Sermon on the Mount”, recorded in Matthew chapters 5-7.

This would have been the most famous sermon that Jesus preached. It comprised a series of teachings on the Kingdom of God, and what it means to be a part of that Kingdom, living as believers in and followers of Jesus Christ.

Jesus opens up this famous sermon with 8 statements of blessing, known as the Beattitudes.

“If the Sermon on the Mount is the Constitution of the Christian faith, then the Beatitudes are the Preamble. These eight statements of Christ offer the best definition of a disciple in the New Testament. This is the Job Description for a disciple of Christ.” (Dr Ray Pritchard”.

Join us over these four weeks as we dig into these teachings and discover what it truly means to be blessed (spoiler alert: It’s got nothing to do with our earthly possessions!)

We look forward to having you join us.
