Our desire is to provide a grazing table of nourishment for your Spirit, Soul and Body with the aim to equip you for the work of ministry. Equip is a powerful word that has a depth to it which includes the ideas of restoring, retraining, practicing and refurbishing. 

BANQUET 5 started in 2021 with the view to serve all people on the Gold Coast. This is not by one church or for one church or even about a church. This is for ‘the church’ no matter where someone’s fellowship may or may not be.  The aim is to lift the spiritual water level on the Coast and the maturity of believers, seeing greater edification to the Body of Christ.

We encourage you to invite someone along to enjoy a course from the banquet together. You are welcome to participate in as many as you like, maybe out of interest, for more understanding, to be challenged or the need for fresh revelation; but for whatever reason, see each course through to the end.

This is just the beginning; be patient, walk the journey. It’s a step, a seed, a drop of water into this beautiful City in which we live.

Monday

A brief  introduction into the MATE bystander program; an education and intervention program teaching us all to be leaders in the prevention of violence and problematic behaviour. The bystander approach focuses not on the perpetrator or the victim of violence rather , what we can all do to prevent violence in our homes , workplaces, schools, and communities.

Tuesday

A course designed to help unpack and be more open and honest about the battles we face as men in this highly sexualized world we live in, with strategies on how to overcome and live in freedom in Christ.

Wednesday

This 12 week in-depth Bible study is aimed at giving a detailed understanding and practical application of important Foundation topics, including: Salvation & repentance, the cross & grace, baptism, the Holy Spirit & his gifts, faith & hope, prayer & worship, discipleship, spiritual hunger, giving, evangelism and world missions, resurrection and judgment. Join us to build strong foundations for your faith & Christian life. Time given each meeting for study, discussion and questions. Essential for new Christians, great Bible study for all. (Open for all ages)

Thursday

Losing your cool is embarrassing, but it happens to all of us. Not a problem. But, if it becomes a habit and starts to affect the ones we love, there’s a good chance we will lose them altogether. The Circuit Breaker course is somewhere that people have been able to find help, change and a new life. It’s a ten-week group-based program for anyone who feels their temper is affecting the quality of their relationships.

This course is for those who want to learn how to hear God speak to them, or for those who want to hear from God better. Participants will have many opportunities to put into practice what they learn in a fun and safe environment.

An attitude of gratitude

We are really thankful and appreciative of all those who have hosted and facilitated these courses for Banquet 5. Many have contributed towards this including 5Space, Gold Coast Chapel, Abundant Storehouse Limited, Genesis Ministries, Break Free Today Ministry and more.

It is a commitment from them so here are some tips to show appreciation.

  1. Turn up a little before start time
  2. Consider contributing in some way every now and then
  3. Make a commitment to communicate about attendance or lateness
  4. Honour the groups agreement
  5. Finish it – even if it turns out different from what you expected, complete what you start
